Partner - Medical Negligence

Andrew is a partner in the Medical Negligence department. Andrew qualified as a Solicitor in 2010. He was awarded the 2019 McMillan Williams' Clinical Negligence Fee Earner of the Year Award.

Andrew has acted for clients across the entire field of medical negligence including:

• Birth injuries, including erb’s palsy and cerebral palsy

• Neurological injuries, including acquired brain injury

• Spinal injuries

• Orthopaedic injuries

• General surgery

• Gynaecology

• Cardiology

• Anaesthesia, including anaphylactic reaction to administered drugs

• Management of diabetes, including management of diabetic foot infections

• Delayed diagnosis and misdiagnosis claims, including cancer cases

Andrew has a particular interest in fatal claims, including representation at inquests where a death has arisen from medical negligence. Andrew is an AvMA panel member and is recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners as a key lawyer in the field.

• Failure to diagnose and treat a haematoma following spinal surgery - £1.5m

• Urogynaecological claim relating to complications from vaginal mesh surgery - £1.1m

• Orthopaedic claim relating to an osteomyelitis bone infection - £850,000

• Orthopaedic claim relating to a failed total hip replacement - £750,00

• Delay in diagnosis and treatment of a diabetic foot infection - £550,000

• Spinal injury claim relating to the failure to diagnose and treat an acute L1 fracture - £435,000

• Fatal case concerning an anaphylactic reaction to anaesthesia - £275,000
