Nicola qualified as a Solicitor in 1985. She is a very experienced Consultant serious injury solicitor who has always specialised in catastrophic injury claims arising out of personal injury and clinical negligence. Nicola is based in the London Bridge office but sees clients nationwide.
Nicola has a varied practice with a focus on maximum severity claims, acting for both children and adults for the last twenty five years.
She has a particular interest in acquired brain injury, spinal injuries, rehabilitation and “capacity”. She is a firm believer that the early introduction of rehabilitation assists all parties to bring claims to a satisfactory resolution. Nicola adopts a multi-disciplinary approach liaising with the clinical team, case managers and the Court of Protection where necessary. Nicola acts as a Court of Protection Deputy.
Nicola also acts in claims involving fatal injuries, severe sexual abuse, psychiatric injury and professional negligence arising from claims handled unsuccessfully by other lawyers. She is also experienced in working with amputees.
She has been recognised as a Leader in her field in The Legal 500 and Chambers UK. Nicola has been described as a “thorough brain injury consultant………..knowledgeable, professional and sympathetic……reacts in a timely manner”
Nicola’s clinical negligence experience includes maternal and neonatal injuries, HIE, cerebral palsy and neurological injuries, delays in diagnosis and failure to diagnose.
Nicola is a member of the Headway Panel. She is a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and an Accredited Brain Injury Specialist. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
Nicola has been a Visiting Lecturer with Birmingham University and the University of Gloucestershire. Nicola is a Lay Plus Member of the Research and Ethics Committee for Wales and has been for 15 years. Nicola is a Trustee of Headway MK and a Trustee of Wordfest in Calne.
