Phil specialises in assisting SMEs and owner-managed businesses with their non-contentious commercial contracts and data protection needs. He qualified as a Solicitor in 2002 and has worked in Legal 500 ranked firms during his career.
His expertise includes drafting a range of contractual documents, from terms and conditions to large service agreements for the provision of services and goods, collaboration agreements and bespoke IT contracts. Phil has also worked on larger projects for clients, advising on strategy and negotiating contracts. Phil also offers guidance on data protection compliance, conducting audits, and facilitating data transfers.
Phil particularly enjoys working with business owners to establish robust contractual foundations for success or future acquisitions.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf and watching many sports, including football and American football, and spending time with his wife and two sons.
B2B service contracts - bespoke advice in relation to our client’s relationships with large, well known international organisations where they are providing services. Advice and negotiation in relation to those contracts.
Drafting of terms and conditions for the provision of services and goods - Phil has assisted many SME clients over the years to produce terms and conditions which are bespoke to their situation, providing key input into clauses which off the shelf terms and conditions won’t provide for.
Data Protection contract advice - advising a client on their legal obligations in relation to data transfers. Almost all businesses handle personal data and in this case, data was being processed outside of the EU. Advising the client on how to achieve that simply and commercially.
Data Protection audit - advising an organisation on their data protection position, following GDPR and also the updated laws post Brexit. Carrying out an audit of how the business holds and deals with data to ensure that they had a solid foundation for the future and complied with their legal obligations.
Distribution Agreement - advice to our client who were entering into a distribution agreement with a USA based company, in relation to a UK based owned entity.
Introducer Agreement - our client, which operates in the luxury and high-end consumer market, had an exciting opportunity to work with some well-known companies to be able to receive referrals. Phil produced that agreement very quickly for them to be able to secure that work.
