The Head of Platform will be responsible for systems architecture, development and maintenance of these systems and other related client and internal systems, to include their customisation and configuration.  As well as being a member of the IT leadership team, they will lead a team which is responsible for end-to-end software development delivery and support in practice management and related systems.  Responsibilities encompass the full software development lifecycle from requirements to implementation and ongoing support and maintenance.

This role involves but is not limited to:  

  • Customisation and configuration of Salesforce/Slack/document management/Financial and HR systems.
  • Key role supporting the Salesforce and Cloud Technology transformation, including integrations with third party services, Finance and HR systems.
  • Provide oversight and support of existing systems through the transformation ensuring optimal functionality and performance, whilst also planning and executing their run-down.
  • End to end software delivery spanning requirements analysis, development, testing, release and support, which meet project specifications.
  • Establish, review and constantly improve internal development processes and methodologies adopting agile where appropriate.
  • Ensure coding standards are met by the team to ensure stability, performance, readability and maintainability.
  • Ensure appropriate governance, structure and integrity of data, implementing best practice.
  • Identify opportunities for gaining advantage through intelligent use and application of data.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead and deliver software projects and programmes of various sizes.
  • Collaborate with, support and challenge cross-functional teams to formulate realistic, beneficial and achievable requirements in order to facilitate optimal outcomes.
  •  Produce meaningful progress reporting and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Document system processes and configurations for future reference and training purposes.

Requirements:  

·         Proven experience working with Salesforce architecture

·         Solid understanding of database management systems, SQL, report writing and data modelling.

·         Experience leading significant transformation programmes to migrate systems from traditional on-premise services to Salesforce.

·         Experience delivering systems with strong data and digital capabilities, championing and driving these benefits through the organisation for maximum impact.

·         Experience implementing agile development methodologies.

·         Management of and interaction with third parties for software delivery.

·         Team leadership, coaching and development of software developers and analysts.

·         Expert in software delivery who comes across as credible and with good stakeholder management skills.

·         Excellent understanding of legal business processes and the application of technology to them
