Meet Our Q1 Corporate Directors Award Winner – Rad Vara

Congratulations to Rad Vara for winning the Q1 Corporate Directors Award.

Since joining Taylor Rose in January 2018, Rad Vara, Brand Executive, has been an invaluable asset to the firm. Within the marketing department, Rad’s role consists of managing the firm's brand identity, paying close attention that every detail aligns with Taylor Rose's values and firm strategy. Her responsibilities include overseeing the firm’s visual identity and tone of voice, providing expert advice on branding elements, and creating a consistent brand presence.

Rad is the go-to person for design work within the firm, having created numerous print and digital assets that perfectly embody the brand. She also supports her colleagues in maintaining brand consistency, ensuring that all internal and external materials reflect the firm’s identity accurately.

What inspired you to pursue a career in Marketing?

"I was fortunate to have the opportunity arise after developing an interest in marketing while working in another department within the firm. Being a creative person, this role has allowed me to further develop those skills."

Throughout her time at Taylor Rose, Rad has grown professionally alongside the firm's expansion. She has taken pride in witnessing this growth firsthand and this is showcased through her work on brochures and digital advertisements. Knowing she played a significant role in shaping the brand and creating visual content has been a major accomplishment for her.

Challenging Situations in Marketing

When faced with high-pressure or challenging moments in her role, Rad takes a different approach to each situation. She stays mindful of all factors involved, considers all possible outcomes, evaluates the desired outcome and considers what solution is achievable. She finds this methodical approach has always assisted her when it came to problem-solving.

She also advises that, “We’re all still learning something new, so we should try and stay conscious of that, remain open-minded and always be kind.”

To maintain a healthy work-life balance, Rad ensures she switches off from work after hours. She finds it helpful to avoid checking work apps outside of working hours to fully recharge.

The Directors Award:

Rad was nominated for the Corporate Directors Award due to her exceptional motivation and momentum over the past few months. Her dedication is truly commendable, as her quality of work has reached an all-time high. While she has completed some basic design and Adobe training, the majority of her skills have been self-taught and developed through her own initiative.

When asked which value resonated most with her, Rad shared, “It’s my job to think about these values all the time, so in a way, I resonate greatly with all of them. Innovate and commit are particularly applicable to me. I’m all about the idea of sharing, creating a collaborative environment, and making strong relationships where you feel comfortable enough to share your thoughts.”

Outside Of Work

Outside of work, Rad enjoys reading and writing creatively, especially poetry.  Some of her favourite authors are Oscar Wilde and Rudy Francisco; she highly recommends ‘The actual’ by Inua Ellams. She also enjoys making her own jewellery in her free time and has begun developing her own brand in regard to this.

Rad will be leaving the firm, with May 2024 marking her final month at Taylor Rose. She is taking an exciting leap and relocating to Vancouver, Canada with her partner. Congratulations to Rad on winning the Q1 Corporate Directors Award; we wish her all the best in her future endeavours and travels.
