Sean Maguire

Sean is a seasoned consultant employment law solicitor with over twenty years experience in supporting clients, both Claimants and Respondents, across the full range of employment law matters including redundancies, unfair dismissal, discrimination and employee grievances.

He has considerable experience working in private practice, both domestically and internationally. He spent eight years working in Shanghai at one of the largest law firms in China where he was involved in complex international employment law matters across the APAC region. Sean has also considerable in-house experience, both domestically and internationally as Senior Legal Counsel (Employment) for the EMEA region for a multinational cloud services company based in the US.
 
 Sean is also an accomplished litigator and has managed hundreds of UK employment tribunal cases through to either settlement or to a successful conclusion at tribunal on behalf of both Claimants and Respondents.

Sean's first degree was in Philosophy and he is jointly qualified as both a barrister (non-practising) and a solicitor. He was educated at Manchester University, The University of Northumbria and the BPP at Leeds.

Sean has a wide variety of interests ranging from the history of Imperial Rome to the latest developments in sub-atomic physics/ quantum theory. He is an avid reader. He is a widely published journalist on Chinese economics and Law and has lectured at several universities in China.
