We’d like to give a huge congratulations to Janet Wilson for winning our Corporate Director’s Award for Q3 2022!
Janet is an LSO Secretarial Team Leader based at our New Addington office. She first joined the firm in March 2003, starting her journey with MW Solicitors meaning she has been with us for almost 20 years.
Janet’s role includes supervising and undertaking secretarial tasks in a professional manner.
Janet has been praised for her hard work and dedication, often working over her hours to help and assist with urgent matters. She has been described as ‘conscientious’ and ‘generous’, going above and beyond to support the rest of the firm.
When finding out she had won the Q3 Corporate Director’s Award, Janet said she felt “amazed and appreciative that all the hard work in my team and from myself to make us successful and useful in the company was being noticed and rewarded.”
We asked Janet a few questions about her job role and found that she thoroughly enjoys the variety her job role gives her most. She continued to discuss that the most challenging part is often communication barriers with fee earners but after some encouragement from herself and her team they usually successfully manage to get through.
When asked what her key to success is, Janet believes it is important to provide “a good, efficient service and always communicating especially if there are likely to be delays.” Following from this, Janet’s one tip to her colleagues is to provide as much information regarding tasks as possible to prevent delays of needing to ask for further relevant information.
She believes that Taylor Rose has helped her develop both personally and, in her career, as over time she has been given the opportunities to become more confident in her own abilities allowing her to eventually be confident enough to supervise a team.
Janet Outside of Work
Janet was born in London and names Mark, Lee and Steven along with their partners as the most important people in her life.
Outside of work, Janet mostly enjoys spending quality time with her family (especially her four grandchildren) which usually involves plenty of food as they are involved in the hospitality industry. Janet also loves to spend her free time playing darts.
Her guilty pleasure is ‘dark chocolate covered Brazil nuts.’
Alongside spending quality time with her family and playing darts, Janet loves to read and when asked what her favourite book was, she “could not possibly choose just one”. She also used to play the clarinet and like’s a variety of different genres of music.
Janet named ‘Venice’ as her favourite travel destination.
