We are delighted to announce that, through the efforts of our staff and contributions from our clients, we have donated the sum of £69,519 to our 2019 charity partner, The Sick Children’s Trust.
The Sick Children’s Trust is a charity which provides accommodation and support to the families of seriously ill children who have been hospitalised. They provide a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of their ten ‘Homes from Home’ which are located across the country.
The charity supports over 3,500 families each year at a stage in their lives when they are vulnerable. The charity aims to help provide families with some stability in their day-to-day life, by supporting them with accommodation located close to their child. It costs the charity £30 to support a family for one night in their “Homes from Home”, with purely voluntary donations making this possible. The donation we have made to them is in addition to our Social and Charity Committee holding fundraising events for the employees throughout 2019, including the £3,000 donation towards The Sick Children’s Trust Christmas Carol service.
We have also participated in the charity’s Golf day, the Big Chocolate Tea party and during the lead up to Christmas, staff donated 74 gifts to the children staying in the charity’s hospices over the festive period, as well as taking part in the Last Hour Appeal in which employees donated the last hour of their 2019 salary to the charity.
Charlotte Webster, Corporate Partnerships Manager at The Sick Children’s trust said;
“Throughout the year, employees at Taylor Rose have been busy raising as much money as possible to give families with seriously ill children in hospital a warm and comfortable place to stay. We are incredibly grateful for being chosen as the charity of the year for Taylor Rose. Their continued efforts have made it possible for hundreds of families to stay together when it matters most.”
Adrian Jaggard, CEO of Taylor Rose says;
"We are proud to be supporting The Sick Children’s Trust and pleased by the difference our support will make to the charity. We aim to raise as much money possible for our chosen charities whilst staff participate in events and fundraisers throughout the year. I would like to thank the Social and Charity Committees and staff across all of our offices for their efforts in helping the firm raise such a significant amount for the charity.”
