New charity partner for 2021/2022: Mind

News
14th Jul 2021

As we come to the end of our partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society, we are delighted to say hello to our new charity partner for 2021/22 - Mind.

Unfortunately, our fundraising efforts were cut short last year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. However, thankfully we were able to donate the sum of £100,000 to the Alzheimer's Society out of residual funds.

Every year our Social & Charity Committee ask staff to nominate and vote for a new charity partner with a wide range of suggestions, Mind was the clear winner receiving a fifth of all staff’s votes.

Mind believes that having the right information and support is vital to either support yourself or others living with mental health problems. According to statistics, every year one in four of us will experience mental health problems, which leads to hundreds of thousands of people struggling to cope.

Mind believes that no one should face a mental health problem alone. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness, and promote understanding of mental health. This has become very important over the last year with various challenges everyone has faced due to the global pandemic.

When you are experiencing a mental health problem, the information that you are given can influence your decisions going forward. Mind have both an Infoline and Legal Line. The info line offers callers confidential help and a Legal line which provides information on mental health related law to the public, service users, family members, carers, mental health professionals and mental health advocates.

Fundraising for Mind has now started and ends in Spring 2022.

With restrictions slowly coming to an end, we are hoping that our fundraising efforts can start up again in our offices nationwide. These events include dress-down days, bake sales and much more.

At Taylor Rose, we are proud to be supporting Mind. Many of us at various points in our life will experience difficulties. During the next year, we hope that we can make a positive impact not only on our fundraising efforts and partnership with Mind but also our employees.

On July 12th, Taylor Rose had a Wellbeing day. Wellbeing days are becoming a popular and effective way to increase awareness and promote health and wellbeing across organisations. Ours was organised to say a thank you to our staff for their hard work and devotion.

Mental health has become a focus now more than ever, in regard to the workplace, Covid-19 and other aspects of our life. We want to be part in making a change and having an influence on looking after our mental health in both our personal and work life.

We are  are looking forward to fundraising and supporting Mind on their aim to support and promote an understanding of mental health.
