On the 17th October 2023, a heartwarming event unfolded as Taylor Rose's Social & Charity Committee, in collaboration with Keeley Lengthorn, Partner and National Baby Loss Campaigner, joined hands to present Cheryl Baker from Abigail’s Footsteps with an incredibly generous donation of £42,320.31.

Abigail's Footsteps came in second place in the charity partner nominations this year, chosen by the firm's staff. Every year, Taylor Rose takes part in this tradition. This year, the Social & Charity Committee went above and beyond by donating to the second and third runner-up charities too.

Abigail’s Footsteps, founded in 2010, stands as a beacon of hope and support for parents and families who have had to endure the devastating loss of a baby. Their mission has always been clear: to ensure that bereaved families receive the necessary support, both within the hospital and upon their return home. The charity also tirelessly strives to equip healthcare professionals with the right training and resources, ensuring that parents faced with such a profound loss receive the highest standard of care possible.

This generous donation from Taylor Rose will undoubtedly help Abigail’s Footsteps in their mission to provide solace, guidance and assistance to parents and families navigating the deeply emotional journey of baby loss. The magnitude of the donation reflects the law firm’s commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those who need it the most.

The event wasn’t just about the monetary donation; it was also a heartfelt recognition of Keeley Lengthorn’s remarkable efforts in the realm of baby loss awareness. In a fitting tribute, Keeley was honoured with the title of Ambassador for Abigail’s Footsteps. This recognition comes as a testament to her tireless advocacy for “George’s Law”, a movement that is aimed at securing paid miscarriage leave before 24-week gestation.

Keeley said about being made an ambassador: “I’m delighted and feel privileged to have been made an ambassador for Abigail’s Footsteps. I promise to devote everything I’ve got to doing everything for a charity that saved me and supported me to have the courage to build a legacy for my son to give to so many families. I cannot stop any loss happening to anyone else, but I now have a platform to hopefully make it a bit easier for the next family.”

Keeley’s dedication to this cause is deeply rooted after experiencing baby loss three times, George’s Law is named after her son George who was born sleeping on the 3rd March 2022. By advocating for “George’s Law”, she is raising awareness about a critical issue, which will offer 3 days paid bereavement leave and will support parents during their darkest moments.

In a world where compassion and understanding are more crucial than ever, Taylor Rose's donation and Keeley Lengthorn’s commitment to this cause shine as beacons of hope, reminding us all of the power of empathy and collective action. This heartfelt gesture of kindness and support goes a long way in helping parents, families, and healthcare professionals in providing solace and the highest standard of care to those navigating the difficult path of baby loss.
