Remortgage - Head Of Department

This role involves but is not limited to:

  • Continually look at business development and ways to ensure greater profitability for the Remortgage department.
  • To organise, prioritise and supervise the workflow of teams for the best interest of the business and to help achieve designated targets.
  • Be responsible for recruitment within the Re-Mortgage Team.
  • Networking and promoting Taylor Rose MW where possible.
  • Undertaking and overseeing complex files.
  • Participate in the OMG or other senior level groups and collaborate with other members to continue to drive the business forward.
  • Monitoring personal performance within the team ensuring activity levels and conversion rates are achieved and adhered to for both internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Developing and leading best practice techniques to drive individual and team continuous improvement.
  • Providing feedback and supporting the Directors highlighting opportunities and risk.
  • Ensuring that SLA’s are complied with and the requirements of quality standards.
  • To lead and motivate the team to carry out their work to the best of their abilities, promoting high levels of performance from staff, identifying training needs within the team and conducting or facilitating appropriate training and development.
  • To ensure full process and system knowledge is continually developed and maintained.
  • Delivering observations and coaching sessions within the team.
  • To be available as a source of contact for all Fee Earners within the department to discuss any concerns and issues they may have.
  • Involvement in business projects.
  • Undertaking annual appraisals and reviews whilst identifying department succession plans.
  • Ensure regular departmental meetings are undertaken.

Requirements:

  • Legal qualification- Solicitor/CILEX/Licenced Conveyancer
  • Residential Conveyancing/Mortgage experience
  • Ability to build a team, maintain moral, supervise and mentor
  • Strong leadership and relationship building skills
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative approach
  • Flexibility to work at different locations
