It is important to note that your conveyancer must satisfy your new lenders requirements so will have to carry out comprehensive checks and formally report to your lender.
The process is however more streamlined than a sale and purchase transaction and typically significantly faster, often taking less than a month if no issues arise.
The main legal checks required by are are similar to acting for a buyer of a property. The property title will need to be checked and searches at the Local Authority. With leasehold properties additional checks are needed.
